National and statewide women’s groups rally behind Dr. Kim Schrier
Issaquah, WA, April 23, 2018—The National Women’s Political Caucus has awarded Dr. Kim Schrier its sole endorsement in the race for Washington’s 8th Congressional District. NWPC joins leading women’s groups, including EMILY’s List and Win With Women, who are rallying behind Dr. Kim Schrier because of her passion for women’s rights and equality.
Today’s endorsement underlines the contrast between Dr. Schrier and her Republican opponent Dino Rossi. Voters will face a choice in November: between a NWPC-endorsed mom, pediatrician who is ready to lead on women’s equality in Congress, or an anti-woman, anti-choice career politician who has consistently fought against policies to support women and families.
Dr. Kim Schrier released the following statement regarding today’s endorsement:
“I am incredibly honored to earn the National Women’s Political Caucus endorsement. They know that I will always be a champion for women’s empowerment and equality. These issues are deeply personal to me, as a mom who had to explain to my nine year old how a bully who grabs womens’ bodies could become our president, as a doctor who is tired of watching panels of men make decisions about women’s health, and as a woman who is fed with up with seeing the effects of sexism on everything from how much women get paid, to how they’re treated in the workplace.
“I am proud to join some of Washington state’s strongest woman leaders, including Rep. Pramila Jayapal and Rep. Suzan DelBene, both of whom have been endorsed by NWPC. Together, we will be champions for women in Congress. I look forward to working together with NWPC toward women’s equality and reproductive rights.”
