Our country is in a pivotal and worrisome moment right now that requires an effective voice and fighter for the people of Washington’s 8th Congressional District. In Congress, I have worked with both parties to deliver real results that matter. And when recent actions by the Trump administration have harmed our community, I have stood up to Trump, his D.C. allies, and his billionaire friends to protect my constituents.

We need to address skyrocketing costs. I am taking on big business monopolies when they pad their profits by raising costs for you. When grocery store monopolies jacked up prices, I went after the merger of Kroger & Albertsons; and I led the bill to protect your kids' data from Big Tech. When Trump cut essential Federal agencies, like firing over 30% of the Forest Service, I fought to get those jobs restored so we can have critical wildland fire fighters defending our communities, and rangers protecting our public lands.

I’ve worked to protect access to and bring down the cost of lifesaving healthcare, like guaranteeing $35 insulin & lowering prescription drug costs. But so much more needs to be done to reform our healthcare system, starting with undoing disastrous Republican cuts to Medicaid (Apple Health), and restoring the tax credits Republicans cut that helped you afford the cost of your premiums. Undoing the bad stuff isn’t enough though. We need to make sure that doctors and patients make healthcare decisions, not insurance companies or the government.

I’ve brought over $57 million dollars back to the 8th District in community projects ranging from school based health clinics to wastewater treatment plants, and returned over $30 million in earned VA benefits, social security payments, and tax refunds. I’ve held over 130 town halls & traveled thousands of miles around this district to meet with you every year.

Right now, with a seeming epidemic of self-enrichment and corruption in Washington, D.C., we need accountability, and not just for the president. You deserve a government you trust to work to protect your interests. And you deserve a representative who will always listen to you & deliver.
